Delhi police along with SSC has released a notification for the post of Constable in Delhi Police. As per the notification SSC is directed to 5846 vacancies in Delhi Police. The date regarding the exam date is published in SSC notice. Candidates between the Age Limit of 18-25 can apply for this post.

As per the official notification online exam of Delhi Police Constable (Executive) is scheduled to be conducted on 27th & 30th November, 1st to 3rd December, 7th to 11th December and 14th December 2020.

The Online Application Fee for Delhi Police Constable 2020 exam is Rs. 100/-

Fee is exempted for all Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation.


Delhi Police Constable 2020 Recruitment Process

The recruitment process for  Delhi Police Constable Recruitment 2020 exam consists of 3 stages:

  1. Online Computer Based Test(100 Marks & Duration 90 Minutes)

  2. Physical Test & Measurement Test

  3. Detail medical Examination


Exam Pattern for Delhi Police Constable

  1. General Knowledge/ Current Affairs - Number of questions(50), Maximum marks(50)
  2. Reasoning - Number of questions(25), Maximum marks(25)
  3. Numerical Ability - Number of questions(15), Maximum marks(15)
  4. Computer Fundamentals, MS Excel, MS Word, Communication, Internet, WWW and Web Browsers etc. - Number of questions(10), Maximum marks(10)
There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.


Syllabus for the Computer Based Examination

General Knowledge/ Current Affairs : Question in this component will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every day 12 observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of any educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Indian Economy, General Polity, Indian Constitution, Scientific Research etc. These Questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.


Reasoning : Analytical aptitude and ability to observe and distinguish patterns will be tested through questions principally of non-verbal type. This component may include questions on analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, visual memory, discrimination, observations, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasons and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding etc.


Numerical Ability : This part will include questions on problems relating to Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions and relationship between Numbers, Fundamental Arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work. etc.



Computer Fundamentals, MS Excel, MS Word, Communication, Internet, WWW and Web Browsers etc : Elements of Word Processing (Word Processing Basics, Opening and closing Documents, Text Creation, Formatting the Text and its presentation features). MS Excel (Elements of Spread Sheet, Editing of Cells, Function and Formulas), Communication (Basics of E-mail, Sending/ receiving of Emails and its related functions). Internet, WWW and Web Browsers (Internet, Services on Internet, URL, HTTP, FTP, Web sites, Blogs, Web Browsing Software, Search Engines, Chat, Video conferencing, e-Banking).


Physical Endurance Details

For Male Candidates 

  1. Up to 30 yearsRace1600 metre(6 Minutes), Long jump(14 Feet), High Jump(3’9”)
  2.  Above 30 to 40 years -  Race1600 metre(7 Minutes), Long jump(13 Feet), High Jump(3’6”)
  3. Above 40 yearsRace1600 metre(8 Minutes), Long jump(12 Feet), High Jump(3’3”)

For Female Candidates 

  1. Up to 30 years - Race1600 metre(8 Minutes), Long jump(10 Feet), High Jump(3’)
  2.  Above 30 to 40 years -  Race1600 metre(9 Minutes), Long jump(09 Feet), High Jump(2’9”)
  3. Above 40 yearsRace1600 metre(10 Minutes), Long jump(08 Feet), High Jump(2’6”)


Standard of Physical Measurement for Male candidates

  1. Physical Measurement Test will be taken only of those candidates who qualify the Physical Endurance Tests.
  2. Height : Minimum 170 cm, Relaxable by : 5 cm for residents of Hill areas i.e. Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and candidates belonging to states of Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunanchal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Leh & Ladakh. (Candidates claiming this relaxation would have to produce a certificate to this effect from the competent authority i.e. DC/ DM/ SDM or Tehsildar of their place of residence at the time of Physical Measurement Test). 5 cm for ST candidates. 5 cm in case of sons of serving, retired or deceased Delhi Police personnel/ Multi-Tasking Staff of Delhi Police. 
  3. Chest : 81 cm with minimum of 4 cm expansion (i.e. 81 - 85 cm), Relaxable by :  5 cm for residents of Hill areas as listed above. 5 cm for ST candidates. 5 cm in case of sons of serving, retired or deceased Delhi Police personnel/ Multi-Tasking Staff of Delhi Police.


Standard of Physical Measurement for Female candidates

  1. Physical Measurement Test will be taken only of those candidates who qualify the Physical Endurance Tests.
  2. Height Minimum 157 cm, Relaxable by : 2 cm for residents of Hill areas i.e. Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and candidates belonging to states of Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunanchal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Leh & Ladakh. Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must fulfill the following four criteria to be eligible for the Delhi Police Constable 2020 Exam

  1. Nationality/ Citizenship : Candidates must be the citizen of India.
  2. Education QualificationThe candidate must have passed 10+ 2 (Senior Secondary) from any recognized school board.

  3. Age Limit : Candidates should not have been born earlier than 02-07-1995 and later than 01-07-2002. Relaxable in upper age limit : 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 5 years for Sportsperson of distinction who have represented a State at the National Level or the Country at International level in sports during preceding three years from the closing date of receipt of online applications, 10 years for Sportsperson of distinction who have represented a State at the National Level or the Country at International level in sports during preceding three years from the closing date of receipt of online applications (SC/ ST), Up to 40 years for Departmental candidate of Delhi Police (UR), Up to 43 years for Departmental candidate of Delhi Police (OBC), Up to 45 years for Departmental candidate of Delhi Police (SC/ ST), Up to 29 years for Sons and daughters of serving, retired or deceased Delhi Police personnel/ Multi Tasking Staff of Delhi Police, 03 years after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age as on the date of 4 reckoning for Ex-Servicemen (UR/ EWS), 06 years (3 years + 3 years) after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age as on the date of reckoning for Ex-Servicemen (OBC), 08 years (3 years + 5 years) after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age as on the date of reckoning for Ex-Servicemen (SC/ ST), 5 years for Widows, divorced and judicially separated women who have not re-married.


Essential Requirement

  1. Candidate must possess a valid driving license for LMV(Motor cycle or Car) for the post of Const. (Exe.) Male in Delhi Police as on the date of PE&MT. Learner License is not acceptable.
